18th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut Three-Drawer Commode Chest from Lyon
Decorate a living room or entry with this elegant antique “Commode Lyonnaise”. Crafted in Lyon, France circa 1760, the large fruitwood cabinet stands on cabriole feet over a scalloped apron. The tall chest features three serpentine drawers across the facade decorated with hand carved scrolled motifs over raised panels, and dressed with the original decorative bronze handles and matching escutcheons. Both side are embellished with recessed panels, and the surface is dressed with a shaped top with bombe front. The traditional Period Louis XV chest of drawers is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Versatile, this chest could be placed in an entryway or a bedroom. Measures: 51.75″ W x 26.25″ D x 40″ H.
