18th Century French Louis XVI Carved Giltwood Wall Clock with Oval Painting

This large wall hanging clock was carved in Paris, France, circa 1780. The clock is in working condition and is topped with a cartouche frame. Inside the frame, is a small, delicate painting topped with a traditional Louis XVI ribbon bow. There’s an antique small mirror at the bottom as well. The mirror is embellished with exquisite carved fruits and flowers on each side. The piece is in very good condition with its original gilt finish. The movement has the original pendulum and key, dated 1778, and marking “Passement”, clock maker in Paris. Measures: 23″ W x 48″ H. SKU: 73-395
