19th C. French Gothic Wrought Iron Chandelier with Crown Top and Gilt Accents
$2,900
About
Illuminate your dining room, library, or entryway with this striking antique French chandelier. Crafted in France circa 1870, the fixture is forged from hand-wrought iron and designed in a bold Gothic style. The circular frame is decorated with scrolling ironwork, applied quatrefoil medallions, and hammered gilt accents that provide a warm contrast against the black patinated finish. The chandelier features a total of nine lights: one central light in the middle and eight perimeter lights mounted on wide drip pans, each newly wired for US standards and fitted with candle-style sleeves. Suspended from a dramatic crown-form canopy and four twisted supports, the chandelier has a commanding presence, perfect for adding height and architectural interest to a room. Measuring 27.5″ in diameter and 45″ in height (including the four chains and top crown), the piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a beautifully aged surface that enhances its medieval character. Ideal over a grand dining table or in a foyer where its historical charm can be fully appreciated. Included: a canopy, loop and chain, each color-matched to the fixture.
