About
This antique coal scuttle was created in France, circa 1870. Built of cast iron, and shaped as a shell with foliage repousse decor, the patinated bucket stands on escargot feet over a scalloped apron. The bucket features a hook form handle at the pediment; opening the hinged slant door, it reveals inside coal storage. The Napoleon III style decorative box is in excellent condition with elegant embossed decor, and could be use next to a fireplace to store wood burning logs. Measures: 16″ W x 20″ D x 12″ H.
