19th Century French Gothic Black Painted Wrought Iron Six-Light Chandelier
$2,300
About
Bring dramatic Old World character to an entryway, dining room, or library with this imposing antique Gothic chandelier. Crafted in France circa 1870, the substantial wrought-iron fixture features an open rectangular body embellished with bold hand-forged scrollwork. Six twisted iron arms extend from the frame, each supporting a newly wired candle-form light fitted with an individual bobeche and decorative candle sleeve.
Three original suspension-chain assemblies rise from the chandelier and connect to its distinctive forged crown, creating an architectural silhouette characteristic of the Gothic Revival style. The hand-worked figure-eight links add texture and visual interest while emphasizing the fixture’s authentic nineteenth-century craftsmanship.
The chandelier retains its original patinated black-painted finish, with natural variations and signs of age that enhance its timeworn appeal. This impressive antique light fixture is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
For every chandelier we sell, a canopy and chain will be added and color-matched to the fixture. The original chains, forged crown, loop, and a coordinating canopy are included.
