19th Century French Louis XIII Style Oak Pedestal Stand Cabinet
$1,900
About
Crafted in France circa 1880, this antique oak pedestal stand reflects the bold, architectural character of Louis XIII design. The compact cubic form is enriched with deeply recessed panels centered by raised diamond point motifs. The strong geometric carving lends sculptural depth while maintaining a restrained and masculine presence. Constructed from solid oak, the stand features a thick molded top with rounded torus edge and a stepped plinth base that grounds the piece with visual weight. The paneled sides are framed by substantial uprights, reinforcing its architectural silhouette. Though fitted with a small door and interior compartment, the proportions and sturdy construction suggest it was intended primarily as a pedestal to elevate and showcase a large vase, sculpture, jardinière, or decorative urn. The antique stand is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorns a warm, rich oak patina with beautiful grain movement throughout. Its versatile scale makes it ideal beside a fireplace, in an entryway, or flanking a doorway with a pair. Dimensions: 17.25″W x 17″D x 17″H
