19th Century French Louis XIII Style Walnut Side Table with Pastoral Tile Top

$1,600

About

This refined antique French side table was crafted circa 1880 in the Louis XIII revival style and built in solid walnut with a warm, richly developed patina. The rectangular top is inset with a hand-decorated ceramic tile panel depicting a pastoral countryside scene with grazing cattle and trees, rendered in deep red tones. Set flush within a molded walnut surround, the tile top adds strong decorative presence while remaining practical for everyday use. The table is raised on finely turned walnut legs joined by a cross stretcher with a central turned finial. A single fitted drawer is discreetly integrated into the apron and retains its original metal pull, offering convenient storage for small items. The overall form is slender, architectural, and well balanced, making this antique table ideal as a side table, lamp table, or occasional table in a living room, bedroom, or study. The piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with light surface wear consistent with its period and no structural issues. A charming and functional example of late 19th century French walnut furniture combining classical Louis XIII styling with a decorative pastoral tile top. Dimensions: 17.25″W x 14.5″D x 28″H.
