19th Century French Louis XV Cane Five-Leg Desk Armchair
Decorate a study or office with this elegant antique desk armchair. Crafted in Provence, France, circa 1880, the corner chair has an arched cane back decorated with a shell motif at the pediment. The traditional desk chair stands on five cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaves at the shoulders and ending with escargot feet. The bombe scalloped apron is embellished with shell decor and the curved armrests are decorated with scroll motifs. The comfortable, classically French seat is dressed with cane, and the rounded back is also dressed with cane. The timeless armchair is in very good condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina throughout. A few spots where the caning has been damaged. See pictures. Measures: 24″ W x 24″ D x 34.5″ H.
