19th Century French Louis XV Upholstered Carved Walnut Prayer Kneeler Bench
Place this elegant antique prayer chair in a bedroom for your daily devotions. Crafted in France, circa 1960, the traditional kneeler built of walnut, sits on turned legs over a scalloped bombe apron. The chair with a wide and cushioned seat features a tall scrolled back decorated with a hand carved cross at the center. The armrest and padded seat are dressed with a floral striped fabric upholstery, and embellished with a decorative ribbon trim. The worship “Prie-Dieu” (French for Praying God) is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Looks like the fabric was replaced very recently, and is in perfect condition. Measures: 19″ W x 16″ D x 32.5″ H.
