19th Century French Louis XVI Carved Painted Upholstered Banquette with Sides
Place this elegant antique bench at the foot of a king size bed or in your living room for extra, versatile seating. Crafted in France, circa 1880, the traditional banquette stands on six tapered and fluted legs embellished with carved acanthus leaves at the shoulders and decorative square medallions at each corner; the apron is further decorated with detailed carvings. The six-leg settee features two curved small backs on each end dressed with carved vertical spinals and embellished with diamond shape motifs. The piece has been reupholstered with a grey canvas fabric, and is complete with two matching round bolster pillows. The narrow Louis XVI style daybed is in excellent condition and adorns an a textured patinated painted finish in the grey and antique white palette. Measure: 77″ W x 16″ D x 31″ H.
