19th Century French Napoleon III Carved Marble and Bronze Selette Pedestal Table
This elegant, antique multi-color marble “Selette” was crafted in France, circa 1880. The Napoleon III pedestal sits on a thick sturdy square plinth embellished with a bronze mount at the base decorated with repousse vine and grape motifs. The circular and tapered stem is decorated at the neck with an ornate bronze ring embellished with foliage, acanthus leaf and floral decor in high relief. The surface is dressed with a swivel square removable top. The tall variegated pedestal is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated finish of different shades of marble in the white, grey and rust palette. Place this timeless, classical column in the corner of a living room to hold a bust or a vase of flowers. Measures: 11.25″W x 11.25″D x39.75″H.
