Bring color to a wall with this pair of antique hanging plaques. Created in France, circa 1880, each round metal plate with brass edge, depicts a hunt scene with hunter and dogs. Both art work are signed by the artist Albert de Gesne. The colorful plaques are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use with rich hand painted colors. Hooks in the back for easy installation. Jean Victor Albert de Gesne was a French, 19th century painter who was born in 1834. De Gesne’s work has been offered at auction multiple times, with realized prices ranging from $1,122 to $9,684, depending on the size and medium of the artwork. Since 2012 the record price for this artist at auction is $9,684 for hunting hounds, sold at Sheppard’s Irish Auction House in 2019. The artist died in 1903. Measure: 12.75″ Diameter
