19th Century French Walnut Marquetry & Bronze Mounts Bombe Jardinière with Liner
This elegant oval planter was crafted in Paris, France circa 1870. The antique walnut jardinière features a serpentine front and bombe sides dressed with intricate bronze handles; the planter is decorated with marquetry motifs on all sides. The top of the cache pot is dressed with a decorative pierced gallery around the edges, and embellished with a bronze trim around the top and base. All four corners are embellished with ornate decorative bronze floral mounts ending with scrolled acanthus leaf motifs feet at the bottom. The luxurious Napoleon III planter is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated finish with wonderful details. The original liner has been fixed and is included. Measures: 16″ W x 10″ D x 6.5″ H.
