19th Century Louis Philippe Giltwood Mirror with Carved Shell & Engraved Motifs
This elegant, antique wall mirror was crafted in France, circa 1870. Rectangular in shape and over five feet tall, the large mirror is decorated at the pediment with a large cartouche shell in the center flanked with carved floral and leaf motifs on both sides. The gilt frame, dressed with the original mercury glass and wood backing, is embellished with engraved floral decor and decorative beads around the glass. The mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich gold leaf finish. The tall mirror would make an impressive addition over a large mantel in a living room, or in a powder room over a vanity sink! Measures: 33.25″ W x 63.25″ H.
