19th Century Spanish Baroque Carved Oak Console with Breccia Marble Top
$8,450
About
This impressive antique Spanish console combines richly carved oak, hand-forged iron, and a substantial Breccia marble top. Crafted in Spain circa 1860, the long rectangular table stands on boldly shaped Baroque legs joined by a decorative iron stretcher with scrolling elements and forged rosette details.
The carved façade is fitted with three drawers, each decorated with repeating floral roundels and fitted with iron drop pulls. Additional carved detailing continues along the apron and legs, giving the piece strong architectural rhythm while preserving the warmth and character of the oak.
The console is topped with a thick Breccia marble slab in warm cinnamon, taupe, cream, and white tones. The richly veined stone is finished with a molded bullnose edge and provides an elegant contrast to the patinated wood and dark ironwork below.
At nearly seven and a half feet wide, the table has exceptional presence while remaining relatively narrow in depth, making it especially well suited for a large entry, dining room, long hallway, or behind a sofa.
Excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a warm patina to the oak.
