19th Century Spanish Hand Painted and Gilt Iron Safe with Locking Combination
$9,200
About
Keep all your valuables and jewelry safe in this elegant, antique iron safe. Crafted in Spain circa 1870, the strongbox features the original black color embellished with hand painted gilt floral decor. The massive safe has an impressive locking mechanism which works like so: first you figure out where the key hole for the main key is located and how to release it. Then you use an alphabetic letter for each of the three wheels to unlock the large handle. Once opened, the inside reveals a pale blue painted interior. The interior is fitted with shelving and storage areas, and has two additional drawers with locks and keys. The safe also features an extra drawer at the base which reveals secret storage under the fake stationary drawer. The complex, secure cabinet is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated finish with hand painted gilt accents. All three keys included with lock combination. Measures: 24.5″ W x 21″ D x 49.5″ H.
