19th Century Spanish Renaissance Carved Bleached Chestnut and Iron Bench
Decorate a hallway or entry with this elegant antique bench. Crafted in Spain circa 1880 and built of chestnut wood, the bench stands on carved legs ending with round feet. Both ox yoke supports are joined with a double forged iron cross stretcher over a rectangular and deep seat decorated with large iron hinges. The folding back with hinges is accented with heavy foliate carvings including a monogram crest in the middle. The Renaissance revival bench is in excellent condition commensurate with age an use, with lots of character, and adorns a wonderful bleached patinated finish.
