Early 20th Century French Empire Marble Top Carved Walnut Four-Drawer Chest
Decorate a living room or den with this elegant antique chest of drawers. Crafted in France, circa 1930, the traditional commode sits on carved columnar supports over a straight bottom plinth; the round columns are dressed with decorative bronze rings at the neck and base. The cabinet features three drawers across the front with the original bronze pulls, over a fourth additional overhanging frieze drawer. The surface is dressed with the original black marble top. This Empire chest is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. The cabinet would make a wonderful powder room vanity with the addition of a sink, or could simply be used in an entry or in a bedroom for extra storage. Measures: 53.75″ W x 23.25″ D x 36″ H.
