Early 20th Century French Louis Philippe Giltwood Wall Mirror with Beveled Glass
$1,600
About
Crafted in France circa 1920, this refined Louis Philippe-style mirror features a rectangular giltwood frame with signature rounded top corners and a clean, symmetrical profile. The surface is adorned with bold spiral reeding and floral corner embellishments, all finished in a warm, time-softened gold leaf with traces of red bole peeking through. The original beveled glass adds visual depth and a touch of elegance, while the mirror’s classic silhouette reflects the understated luxury of the Louis Philippe period. Measuring 30 inches high by 24 inches wide, it can be hung vertically or horizontally thanks to a later-added hanging wire. The back shows traditional French construction with an aged hand-set board. A timeless and versatile piece, perfect for use in a foyer, powder room, or above a chest in both traditional and transitional interiors. Excellent condition with minor wear consistent with age.
