Early 20th Century French Napoleon III Walnut Martini Tables with Marble Tops
$1,800
About
This elegant pair of antique French martini tables was crafted in France in the early 20th century, circa 1920, and reflects the enduring influence of the Napoleon III style interpreted through a restrained, early modern lens. Designed as occasional or guéridon tables, each piece features a slender turned walnut column rising from a gracefully shaped tripod base, offering refined proportions and excellent stability. The bases are executed in solid walnut with a warm, rich patina that highlights the natural grain and subtle hand-turned detailing. The softly cabriole-shaped legs curve outward with understated movement, lending the pair a light, sculptural presence well suited to salon seating, bedside use, or flanking a sofa or armchair. Each side table is topped with a circular marble surface set within a pierced brass gallery. The pair is intentionally mismatched, featuring two different marbles that complement one another beautifully: one with warmer tones and expressive veining, the other cooler and more densely figured. The brass galleries retain a softly aged finish and provide both decorative definition and functional containment. The small tables are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with light surface wear to the walnut and natural veining to the marble consistent with their antique character. Decorative, practical, and highly versatile, this matching yet varied pair offers classic French elegance with visual interest and authenticity. Dimensions: 11.5″ Diameter x 22″ H
