This colorful antique advertising tin was created for the celebrated Swiss chocolate manufacturer Suchard during the early 20th Century. Crafted circa 1910, the large rectangular metal container retains its original lithographed decoration promoting Suchard cacao and chocolate products, including the company’s historic Milka and Velma brands.

Each side presents a different period advertisement. One panel depicts a young girl holding a Suchard chocolate box beneath the words “Cacao” and “Grand Prix Paris 1900,” while another features two elegantly dressed women enjoying Suchard’s Velma chocolate. The Milka panel illustrates an Alpine pastoral scene with cattle and figures in traditional dress, and the reverse displays the bold blue Suchard logo together with directions for preparing soluble cacao. Holly leaves and berries form a delicate decorative border around the panels.

The fitted hinged lid bears additional Suchard advertising and opens to reveal a spacious unlined metal interior. Its generous scale makes the box useful for storing kitchen accessories, linens, correspondence, or collectibles, while its wonderfully aged graphics give it strong decorative appeal in a kitchen, pantry, café, or commercial interior.

The antique tin is in good condition commensurate with age and use, with scratches, oxidation, fading, small dents, and surface wear that contribute to its authentic timeworn character. The lid opens and closes properly.
