Mid-19th Century Louis XV Carved Walnut Upholstered Armchair from Provence
Decorate a study or a bedroom with this elegant antique armchair. Crafted in southern France circa 1860, the comfortable fauteuil sits on cabriole legs decorated with acanthus leaves at the shoulder and ending with escargot feet. The armchair has a tall and arched back, a wide and deep seat over a four-side scalloped apron decorated all around with carved shell and leaf motifs. The chair with curved armrests and acanthus leaf decor is upholstered with a white floral silk fabric, embellished with decorative brass nail heads. The large provincial armchair is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina throughout. Measures: 28″W x 22″D x 41″H.
