Mid-Century French Iron and Glass Wine Decanter Dispenser with Tastevin Cup
$700
About
Celebrate the art of wine service with this elegant wine decanter dispenser, crafted in France circa 1950. The hand-blown glass decanter, delicately etched with grapevine and leaf motifs, is mounted upside down in a wrought iron frame with spiral support. The forged stand features a dark green painted finish with gilt accents and is adorned with sculptural grape leaves and curling tendrils. A single pricket for a taper candle adds an atmospheric touch for tastings. The decanter is fitted with a precision dispenser, allowing for a controlled pour directly into the accompanying silver-plated tastevin, or wine taster’s cup. Traditionally used by sommeliers, the tastevin’s raised bosses catch the candlelight to help evaluate a wine’s clarity and color. In excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and resting on scalloped feet, this piece combines function and artistry, making it a refined addition to a wine cellar, tasting room, or bar area. Measures: 12″W x 7″D x 19.5″H
