Mid-Century French Patinated Bronze Sculpture on Marble Base after L. Hottot

$2,700

About

Decorate a study or an office with this elegant bronze sculpture. Crafted in France circa 1950 and resting on a round marble base, the subject depicts a young beauty of fashion sited on a trunk, and holding a pair opera binoculars. The tall lady figure, signed L. Hottot is in excellent condition with wonderful details and a rich two-tone patinated finish. Artist listed in the Benezit (see last picture). Louis Hottot (1834-1905) was a 19th Century French sculptor; born in Neully sur Seine, Hottot specialized in Orientalist scenes and figures. Most of Hottot’s works were cast in bronze or spelter and were exhibited at the Paris Salon from 1885 until 1898. Measures: 9.75″ diameter 24.25″ height.
