Mid-Century French Patinated Concrete Faux Bois Split-Log Planter on Legs
$1,525
About
Stage a garden, terrace, or interior sunroom with this striking antique faux bois jardinière. Crafted in France circa 1950, the rectangular planter is sculpted to imitate a split tree trunk, raised on four naturalistic branch-form legs. The surface is richly worked in high relief, with deeply textured bark, knots, and growth rings that convincingly replicate aged wood.
Made using the traditional faux bois technique, the piece is constructed from concrete over an iron armature for strength, then hand-finished to achieve its lifelike organic character. The elongated trough form offers generous planting space, ideal for seasonal arrangements, herbs, or cascading greenery.
The antique planter is in excellent condition commensurate with age and outdoor use, with a beautifully weathered patina that enhances its rustic appeal. The base is pierced for proper drainage. A sculptural and highly decorative piece that brings texture and authenticity to any garden setting. Weight 95 pounds.
