Midcentury French Louis XV Walnut Parquetry Chest of Drawers with Marble Top
This elegant oval shape fruitwood antique commode was crafted in Paris, circa 1950. The chest sits on cabriole legs decorated with bronze sabot feet, over a scalloped apron embellished with a brass mount. The front has two drawers with marquetry decor panels and embellished with the original handles and escutcheons; the cabinet features a top brass pierced gallery with an inset grey and white marble surface. The chest is further decorated with bronze mounts in the corners, and the bowed sides features parquetry decor. The traditional nightstand is in excellent condition with a rich walnut patina, delicate marquetry embellishments with a veneer surface. Versatile, the oval petite cabinet could be used as a bedside table, or as a storage cabinet in a powder room. Measures: 23.75″ W x 16″ D x 30.75″ H.
