Pair of 19th Century Louis XVI Carved and Painted Three-Drawer Chests Commodes
Use this elegant pair of antique painted chests of drawers on either side of a mantel, on in an entry way. Crafted in France circa 1860, each cabinet sits on tapered and fluted feet decorated with floral rosette medallion at the shoulder, over a carved apron embellished with a floral decor in the center. Each commode features spline columns along each side, dressed with three drawers across the front, two of them decorated with a center diamond shape medallion and embellished with brass pulls. Both sides are decorated with carved raised panels. The surface is dressed with a painted top. Both Louis XVI style cabinets are in excellent condition with a rich textured and patinated painted finish in the off white palette. These chests of drawers could also be used as nightstands bedside tables on either side of a king size bed in a large master bedroom. Measures: 46″ W x 22.25″ D x 34.25″ H.
