Pair of 20th Century Dutch Painted Blue and White Faience Delft Ginger Jars

$1,200

About

Place this elegant pair of antique ceramic ginger jars on a mantel or a console in entryway. Crafted in Holland, circa 1980, the traditional blue and white jars are round in shape and have a cone lid embellished with a finial at the top. Each large faience potiche features hand painted medallions with Classic Dutch scenes, including the traditional windmill and the sailboat; it is further embellished with flower and foliage decor throughout. The tall vessels are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn rich colors, in the traditional blue and white Delft palette; they would make a colorful addition to a commode or an enfilade in a dining or living room. Measure: 8″ diameter 13.5 height.
