This elegant vintage pair of wall mirrors was carved in France circa 2000 and shaped in the Louis XV style. Oval in form, each frame features a beautifully reeded surround crowned by an ornate pediment with a scalloped shell cartouche flanked by scrolling floral and foliate motifs. Additional carved roses, leaves, and trailing garlands accent the upper and lower sections, culminating in a gracefully shaped base with ribbon and laurel details reminiscent of 18th-century ornament. The mirrors retain their original glass plates, framed by a warm, patinated gilt finish that echoes the look of fine antique French carving. Both large wall decors are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and would make a dramatic statement on either side of a grand entry door, flanking a mantel with matching consoles or chests, or enhancing a master bathroom above his-and-her sinks.
