Handwoven in France circa 1860, each tall panel is designed in the traditional narrow format, originally used to flank doors in château interiors. The compositions feature classical floral arrangements set in decorative jardinières with stylized eagle supports, surrounded by scrolling foliate motifs and delicate architectural framing.
Rendered in a soft pastel palette of beige, blush, pale green, and muted blue, the tapestries offer a refined and airy presence, with beautifully balanced symmetry between the pair.
