18th Century French Polished Iron Fireback with Coat of Arms and Fleur de Lys
Decorate a fireplace hearth with this large antique fire back, created in France circa 1760, and almost square in shape, the plaque features a geometric band frame around the perimeter, it is decorated with numerous Fleurs de Lis and spear motifs throughout, two male heads sculptures in high relief in the top corners, and embellished with an elegant center shield featuring a standing lion. The heavy iron element is in excellent condition with a rich polished steel finish, and could also be used as a back splash behind a stove in a kitchen. Weight 167 pounds. Measures: 34″ W x 28″ H.
