19th C. French Henri II Carved Walnut Hall Tree with Beveled Mirror and 8 Hooks
$2,600
About
This handsome antique hall tree combines practical storage with the architectural character of the French Henri II style. Crafted in France circa 1880, the tall walnut stand features a warm, richly patinated finish and an impressive arrangement of hand-carved floral rosettes, stylized foliage, geometric panels, and fluted pilasters.
The upper section is centered by a rectangular beveled mirror, framed by eight long brass coat and hat hooks and surmounted by a molded cornice. Beneath the mirror, a projecting shelf offers a convenient place for keys, gloves, or small personal items. A horizontal brass rail extends across the lower portion, while the shaped base retains a fitted zinc drip tray for umbrellas and walking sticks. The hall stand rests on turned bun feet and has a paneled back for stability.
Ideal for an entryway, mudroom, or dressing area, this substantial hall tree provides both decorative presence and useful storage. Excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with minor surface wear and a warm patina.
