19th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut Armchairs from Provence, Set of Four
Decorate an office, study or a den with this elegant suite of four antique armchairs! Crafted in Provence, France circa 1880, each fauteuil stands on cabriole legs ending with escargot feet and decorated with hand carved floral motifs at the shoulder. Each comfortable armchair has a tall and arched back decorated with shell and foliage motif, a wide and deep seat, and open curved armrests with acanthus leaf decor. The scalloped apron is embellished with hand carved shell decor, and both sides are decorated with foliage embellishments. Each fauteuil with loose cushion, is upholstered with the original pale green velvet fabric and dressed with decorative brass nail heads. The four large provincial chairs are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorn a rich walnut patina throughout. Measures: 29″W x 23″D x 42″H.
