19th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut Provincial Buffet from Provence

Crafted in southern France circa 1890, the cabinet is built of solid walnut and showcases graceful Louis XV styling with serpentine lines, scalloped contours, and richly hand-carved floral decoration throughout.
The façade features two drawers across the top dressed with intricate forged iron pulls and matching escutcheons, each framed with delicate vine and foliate carvings. Below, a pair of shaped paneled doors open to reveal interior shelving for practical storage. The fixed center stile is adorned with a carved floral basket motif echoed above between the drawers, while the scalloped apron is embellished with scrolling foliage and a carved urn centerpiece. Fluted corner posts and escargot feet complete the refined provincial silhouette.
The shaped top with molded edge displays a warm and luminous walnut patina highlighting the beautiful natural grain and depth of the wood. Rich in character and craftsmanship, this antique French buffet retains its original hardware and key, and is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
