Early 20th Century French Louis XV Walnut Enfilade with Marble Top
$7,950
About
This substantial antique French enfilade, crafted in Provence circa 1920, showcases the elegance and movement of the Louis XV style, executed in richly grained walnut and topped with a beautifully contoured slab of Giallo Siena Breccia marble. The serpentine façade and molded bullnose edge highlight the warm, veined stone in tones of ochre, cream, and soft rust.
The case is organized with four paneled doors framing a central stack of six serpentine drawers, all dressed with original brass hardware. The façade is animated with hand-carved foliate details, shell motifs, and a shaped apron, while cabriole legs provide a graceful lift. Inside, the side compartments open to reveal curved shelving, offering both practical storage and display.
A commanding and highly functional antique buffet, ideal for a dining room, large entry, or living space, bringing both scale and decorative presence.
Excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with minor surface wear to the marble consistent with its history and a warm, richly developed walnut patina throughout.
