19th Century French Louis XV Silverplated Bronze Mirrored Plateau Table Surtout
This elegant antique bronze silver plated “Surtout de table” (table platter) was crafted in France circa 1880. Oval in shape with intricate side handles, the tray stands on four small scrolled feet decorated with acanthus leaf motifs, over a scalloped apron embellished with floral and shell decor. The Surtout is dressed with the original inset mercury glass mirrored plateau over a wooden base. The Rococo style center piece is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich patinated silver finish. Use this beautiful piece to decorate a dining room table.
