About
Decorate a powder room with this elegant, antique wall mirror. Crafted in France, circa 1870, and rectangular in shape with rounded top corners, the mirror is decorated at the pediment with a large pierced shell crest cartouche in the center flanked with carved floral and leaf motifs on both sides. The gilt frame, dressed with the original encased mercury glass, is embellished with a discrete engraved floral decor and decorative beaded trim around the mirror plate. The wall decor is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich gold leaf finish. Versatile, the mirror could be place in an entry way above a console or over a chest in a bedroom! Some typical silver loss to the mirror plate. Weight 24.5 pounds.
