Early 20th Century French Floral Six-Light Metal Chandelier with Porcelain Bird
$2,900
About
Decorate a breakfast room, powder room, bedroom, or entry with this charming antique French floral chandelier. Crafted in France circa 1920, the fixture features a verdigris painted metal frame decorated with scrolling vine work, leafy branches, and delicate floral accents throughout. The chandelier is embellished with white porcelain roses and a central white porcelain bird perched among the foliage, giving the piece a whimsical garden-inspired quality.
The six-light chandelier has a naturally aged green painted finish with wonderful surface patina, oxidation, and wear, adding to its antique character. Each arm is fitted with a candle-style sleeve and floral bobeche, while the open cage form is accented with trailing wire tendrils and layered metal leaves. The chandelier is suspended from its original chain and has been newly wired to US standard for six lights.
This early 20th Century fixture is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with minor paint losses, and age-related patina throughout. A romantic and decorative lighting piece, it would bring a soft French garden feel to a bedroom, sunroom, or small dining area.
