Early 20th Century French Gothic Revival Wrought Iron Wall Sconces, Set of 3
$2,200
About
Bring timeless architectural character to a hallway, great room, or wine cellar with this striking set of three antique French wall sconces. Crafted in France circa 1920, the Gothic Revival fixtures are hand-forged in wrought iron and feature a dramatic silhouette inspired by medieval ecclesiastical design. Each sconce is centered by a stylized fleur-de-lis crest framed by elongated diamond-form finials above and below, lending the pieces a strong vertical presence.
The sconces are fitted with three gracefully scrolled candle arms, each terminating in a shallow drip pan and faux candle sleeve. Hand-forged hammer marks and subtle irregularities throughout the ironwork attest to their artisanal construction, while the dark aged patina enhances their historic character. The balanced arrangement of the arms creates both visual symmetry and practical illumination.
Recently wired for modern use, these antique French sconces are ready for installation and would complement Gothic, Spanish Colonial, Tudor, Mediterranean, or Country French interiors. They are equally effective flanking a fireplace, illuminating a corridor, or adding ambiance to a dining room or entry hall.
The antique wrought iron sconces are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and adorn a rich dark patinated finish.
