This handsome antique pastry table was crafted in France circa 1920 and combines an elegant wrought-iron base with a substantial original gray slate top. Rectangular in form, the table is supported by four dramatic scrolling iron legs joined by slender stretchers and enriched with contrasting bronze mounts, circular medallions, and ball finials.

The apron is particularly decorative, with an openwork Gothic-inspired border running along all four sides beneath the top and terminating in small pendant motifs at the corners. Broad looping supports and tightly curled feet give the base a light, architectural quality while maintaining a strong sense of balance and symmetry. The polished iron has developed a deep brown patina that pairs beautifully with the warmer bronze details.

The thick slate work surface retains its softly aged gray finish and shows minor old chips consistent with age and use, visible in the detailed photographs. Originally conceived as a French pastry or butcher’s work table, the piece is now equally suited as a compact kitchen island, serving table, console, or occasional table.

The antique table is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, retaining wonderful surface character throughout.
