Colorful and highly sculptural, this antique three-piece barbotine garniture reflects the naturalistic elegance of the emerging French Art Nouveau period. Crafted in France circa 1890, the glazed earthenware set was produced by the celebrated Gustave de Bruyn pottery of Fives-Lille.

The garniture comprises a pair of circular cachepots and a larger oval jardinière. Each vessel features an undulating scalloped rim, integrated loop handles, and a molded footed base. The deep olive-green ground is enriched with flowing relief patterns and applied flowers in delicate shades of white, pink, and lavender. Broad leaves glazed in soft celadon green complete the botanical decoration.

Antoine Gustave de Bruyn (1838–1916) was a Belgian-born, fourth-generation potter who settled in Fives, near Lille, and established the Faïencerie de Fives-Lille. The manufactory became renowned for artistic faience, majolica, and barbotine decorated with naturalistic flowers, foliage, and animals. De Bruyn received a silver medal at the 1889 Paris Universal Exposition.

Each piece bears the impressed De Bruyn factory mark underneath. The set is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use.
