$1,200
About
Bring a soft Parisian atmosphere to a living room, study, bedroom, or hallway with this vintage limited edition print titled Paris Promenade by Gisson. Produced circa 1985 by the American Masters Foundation, the composition captures an elegant view of the Avenue des Champs-Élysées with the Arc de Triomphe in the distance, a horse-drawn carriage, strolling figures, children, and a tree-lined boulevard rendered in Gisson’s loose, impressionistic palette.
Andre Gisson was born in New York in 1928 and studied art at the Pratt Institute before continuing his artistic training in Paris and later in Europe and Asia. His work reflects the influence of celebrated masters such as Renoir, Monet, Vermeer, Chardin, and Morandi, while developing a light, atmospheric style admired by collectors for its soft color, movement, and romantic city scenes. This Paris view beautifully reflects his interest in late 19th and early 20th Century French impressionist painting.
The work is signed in the plate lower left and signed and numbered lower right, edition 586/1000. It retains its original Affidavit of Limited Edition on the back, stating that the edition was limited to 1,000 signed and numbered reproductions.
The print is presented under glass in a wood frame with a linen mat and silver-tone inner liner. The piece is in good vintage condition commensurate with age and use, with minor wear to the frame and paper backing as shown.
