This commode with an included menagere flatware set was created in France, circa 1920. The traditional five drawer chest is an entertaining essential that keeps your flatware organized and well-preserved between uses; each drawer is upholstered with red velvet compartment. The cabinet sits on four cabriole legs under a scalloped apron, and features a shaped gallery on the surface. The chest with intricate lock mechanism hosts a set of Christofle flatware with 181 silver plated pieces (complete minus 2 mocha spoons). Each piece is signed “Christofle” with a signature punched marking from the luxury goldsmith house. The set includes: 12 soup spoons, 12 dinner forks, 12 desert spoons, 12 desert forks, 12 coffee spoons, 12 cream spoons in the top drawer. 12 dinner knifes, 12 cheese knifes, 12 oyster forks, 12 cheese forks, 10 mocha spoons in the second drawer (2 pieces missing). The third drawer lined in luxurious red velvet is empty on purpose. 12 fish knifes, 12 fish forks, 9 serving pieces in the fourth drawer. 18 serving pieces in the bottom drawer. The set is excellent condition, and the chest has a rich walnut patina throughout. Measures: 25.5″ W x 18″ D x 31.5″ H.
