Mid-19th Century French Louis XV Carved Giltwood Wall Mirror from Provence
This elegant antique wall gilt mirror was crafted in Southern France, circa 1860. The rectangular mirror features a nicely carved pierced rocaille cartouche at the pediment with delicate scroll, leaf and shell motif. Both sides are embellished with carved scrolled decor and the bottom features additional shell and acanthus leaf motifs. The important piece is dressed with the original beveled mercury glass and wood backing. The large wall mirror in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a beautiful gold leaf finish. Versatile, this eye-catching, decorative mirror would make a great addition to a powder room, an entry over a console, or in a dining room over a buffet! Hooks and wire in the back for easy handling and installation. Measures: 38″ W x 58.5″ H.
