$2,200
About
Decorate your hearth with this elegant antique style fireplace screen. Crafted in France circa 1960, the rectangular firescreen stands on four scrolled feet and is built of cast brass with a finely woven mesh center. The frame is richly adorned with classical Louis XVI motifs including a laurel wreath crest tied with ribbon and torch, and a central cartouche featuring lovebirds perched amidst floral garlands and scrolling foliage. The lower apron is dressed with draped swag detailing, adding depth and refinement to the composition.
The decorative screen is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a warm gilt patinated finish. Both functional and decorative, this piece will enhance a fireplace while serving as a sculptural accent in any traditional or transitional interior.
