Richly ornamented yet petite in scale, this pair of antique mirrors offers an elegant way to introduce French character and reflective light into an interior. Crafted in France circa 1860, each rectangular mirror is framed in finely worked silver-plated metal with hand-chased repoussé decoration.

A sculptural crest crowns each frame, centered by a foliate cartouche and surrounded by scrolling acanthus leaves, floral motifs, and delicate rocaille flourishes. The ornamentation continues along the molded borders and extends into pronounced acanthus leaves at the lower corners, creating a graceful, balanced composition characteristic of the Louis XV style. The softly aged silvered finish catches the light beautifully and displays a subtle patina that enhances the depth and definition of the raised decoration.

Both mirrors retain their original wood backs, complete with later hanging hardware for secure wall display. Their matching design and versatile proportions make them ideal for flanking a painting, doorway, vanity, or mantel. They may also be displayed together above a console or incorporated individually into a salon-style gallery wall. The decorative easel stands shown are not included. The pair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with minor surface wear consistent with its antique character.
