Crafted in France circa 1880, this elegant pair of antique Louis XV-style bedside tables features richly figured walnut veneers accented with geometric marquetry, contrasting banding, and fine string inlay. Each nightstand is surmounted by a shaped Portoro-type black marble top, dramatically veined in white and warm ochre tones. Beneath the molded edge, a frieze drawer fitted with an ornate floral brass handle provides convenient storage for smaller bedside necessities. The lower cabinet door opens to reveal an interior storage compartment lined with fleur-de-lis-patterned paper.

The fronts are decorated with shield-form figured panels framed by radiating veneer, while the canted corners and paneled sides continue the refined parquetry decoration. Each bedroom cabinet stands on four slender cabriole legs beneath a shaped apron, creating the graceful silhouette associated with the Louis XV tradition. Functional as bedside cabinets, nightstands, night tables, bedroom cupboards, or marble-top storage tables, the matching pair combines practical drawer and cabinet space with elegant 19th-century character. The bedside tables are in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with a warm patina and minor surface and veneer wear consistent with their age.
