Elegant neoclassical detailing gives this vintage oval mirror a refined decorative presence. Crafted in France circa 1950, the giltwood frame is embellished with carved foliate borders, delicate beaded molding, and a wide crosshatched inner band. Repeating floral and fleur-de-lis-inspired motifs accent the warm ochre-toned panels, creating an attractive contrast with the hand-applied gilt finish.

The oval mirror retains its original glass and wooden backing. It is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use and displays a rich, softly aged patina with subtle variations and wear throughout the gilding. Fitted with later hanging hardware, the mirror may be displayed either vertically or horizontally, making it well suited for an entryway, powder room, bedroom, or above a small console.
