This elegant antique wall mirror was crafted in Southern France, circa 1880. The rectangular mirror with curved sides and bottom, features a nicely carved pierced shell cartouche at the pediment with delicate scroll, leaf and floral motifs. Both sides are embellished with carved leaves and floral decor in high relief at the base in the corners. The large and thick frame is dressed with the original beveled mercury glass and wood backing. The tall mirror is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Versatile, this eye-catching, decorative mirror would make a great addition to a powder room, an entry over a console, or in a living room over a mantel! Hanging wire in the back for easy handling and installation. Some visible aged spots on the glass. Measures: 38″ W x 67.5″ H.
