Early 20th Century French Louis XV Carved Walnut Six-Leg Upholstered Bench
Crafted in Provence, France circa 1920, the antique fruitwood bench stands on six elegant cabriole legs decorated with hand carved acanthus leaf motifs at the shoulder, and ending with escargot feet, over a double curved X stretcher at the base. The scalloped apron is embellished with a carved shell and foliage decor on both sides. The seat has been upholstered with a colorful striped fabric, and dressed with a decorative trim. The Louis XV style bench is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina. Place this versatile bench at the foot of a bed, or use it for extra seating in a den, or on one side of a small breakfast table. Measures: 40.25″ W x 15.25″ D x 20″ H.
